dxFeed Courts Indicator Sellers Days Before TradingView Closes Off-Platform Sales

Market data provider dxFeed pitched its dxScript scripting engine today (Wednesday) to firms that sell paid trading indicators. It tied the offer to new TradingView rules for invite-only scripts.

From Sunday, November 1, access to those scripts on TradingView can be sold only through its Marketplace, and vendors who keep taking payment elsewhere risk having their scripts blocked, as FinanceMagnates.com reported when TradingView moved paid indicator sales onto its own store.

That store listed 52 paid spaces today, priced from $4.99 to $199 a month, the same count as on Tuesday by FinanceMagnates.com’s tally. TradingView said in August that more than 1,000 authors had applied for one.

London’s trading industry is coming home!

Scripting Inside a Firm’s Own App

dxFeed, a subsidiary of trading technology firm Devexperts, describes dxScript as a component that brokers, fintech firms and indicator sellers can add to a product they already run. Buyers keep their own branding and commercial model and do not need to build a scripting language, dxFeed said.

The engine launched in July as a JavaScript-based language running on dxFeed market data, with backtesting and signal alerts listed as later additions.

The name is older. Devexperts introduced DXscript in 2021 for traders writing their own indicators, and opened its DXcharts library to custom JavaScript indicators in March.

An AI agent built into dxScript turns trading logic written in plain language into code, according to dxFeed. TradingView took a different route in September, connecting its accounts to AI assistants such as ChatGPT and Claude for market data, screeners and alerts.

Denis Krivolapov, product manager for dxScript at dxFeed, said trading technology was moving toward a modular model in which firms add what they need without rebuilding their stack.

“Scripting should be one of those building blocks,” he said.

What a Seller Gives Up in Each Store

Indicator sellers who stay inside a platform’s store pay it a share of each sale, and the rates differ. MetaTrader and cTrader are among the platforms whose vendor web traffic FM Intelligence’s platform comparison tool tracks by country.

TradingView’s Creator Program terms put its platform fee at 0% with no end date, after an earlier version said the rate would apply at least until October 1, 2026, as FinanceMagnates.com noted when cTrader added subscriptions for paid tool creators in August.

MetaQuotes takes 20% of sales in its MQL5 Market, according to the store’s rules, while Spotware keeps 30% in the cTrader Store it opened to algo developers in December 2024. That puts the cut across the three stores at 0% to 30% of each sale.
